18th December 2022

Christmas at the Baby Rainbow Memorial Garden was extra special. With funds raised throughout the year, we were able to purchase a beautiful Christmas tree and lights, and offered our community a free, personalised decoraration to place on the tree in memory of their angel in heaven. We gathered at the garden, braving the cold and rain, and sang a few Christmas Carols in honour of our own little angels. It was a peaceful and perfect gathering and we hope this event will be something our community can look forward to each year. Merry Christmas to you all, from us at Baby Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

We were very proud and overwhelmed to receive the Personal Courage award at the North Lincolnshire Community Champion Awards 2022. The event was humbling to be amongst many other local charities and people who have helped the community over the past year, and we were honoured to receive this award.

28th August 2022

The entire team at Baby Rainbow Memorial Gardens were overwhelmed by the support received on Sunday. We raised over £3,000 in funds through our tombola, a raffle and donations from generous visitors and vendors. The money will go towards keeping the garden running and opening more across the region.

Rides provided by Dowses Funfair and inflatables by The House of Bounce were just some of the attractions on offer throughout the day. The funday also featured special performances from Feet2Beat School of DanceMessingham Martial Arts and Disney performers Dream a Little Dream by Sarah Stones. Officers from Humberside Police also attended and brought along equipment for the children to try on. Many thanks to you all for providing such a wonderful addition to the day!

We are so proud and thankful that the funday provided a really good day out for everyone and it was great for people to see the garden in full bloom over the summer. A big thank you to everyone that came and supported us, you have really helped us be able to carry on with what we are trying to achieve in the community.

July 2022

We have had a lot of developments at the Baby Rainbow Memorial Garden lately. Some new planters have been installed either side of the famous Rainbow Arch, and we already have them sponsored by 2 new local firms (find out more about our Sponsors here).

Our Halo has now had the Memorial Tree safely and securely installed, and has been embellished with beautiful blossom, also made by the talented students at North Lyndsey College. A small fence has also been installed around the perimeter of the Halo, with kind and generous support from Quibell Fabrications and LH Hydraulics

We are looking forward to seeing all the beautiful, colourful blooms provide a stunning display over the Summer.

Sunday 10th April 2022

We are extremely pleased to have the garden officially open to the bereaved community of Scunthorpe. We are very proud and honoured to be able to have provided such a bright and welcoming garden for every family who have suffered the tragic loss of a child. It is our hope that with National campaigns such as #BritainGetTalking, it is vital for our mental health, especially during bereavement, that we talk. And with that at the forefront of the gardens purpose, we would hope this garden is used by any bereaved parent, sibling, family member or friend, to visit and talk about their children while using the space to honour them.

We were overwhelmed by the amazing turnout of people to witness the opening ceremony. We were all moved by the support shown, and we received so many positive comments, not only about the gardens aesthetic but also the meaning and purpose it has.

We would like to personally thank our MP, Holly Mumby-Croft, who has given significant support and encouragement to the project from its inception, along with Rob Waltham, Andy Fidell and Chris Ramsbottom from North Lincolnshire Council. We also want to thank Carl Beacock at North Lincolnshire Council who has shown great passion for this project and has been a continual source of encouragement, knowledge and support to us all.

We want to thank everyone who came to any of our Volunteer Days. We had a great turn out at all of them, and each person contributed to the progression of this garden with great enthusiasm and fantastic energy. Your donation of your free time to help this garden progress is sincerely appreciated. More Volunteer Days will be announced soon!

8th March 2022

Today saw the Mental Health Awareness bed take shape.

We are so pleased with how this very special bed has turned out.

As loss and grief of any kind is so closely linked to depression, we have developed this dedicated mental health awareness bed. A delicate & gentle part of the garden, designed to serve as a reminder to those in suffering that they are not alone.

18.01 Drainage.jpeg

18th January 2022

On 28th December, we were saddened to hear that the site had flooded.

This was a slight set-back, but after meeting with North Lincolnshire Council on site, a solution-based plan was discussed and agreed.

Today that plan is being put in to action.

Volounteer Day A Great Success

5th December 2021

Thank you to all those who attended our first volounteer day on Saturday 5th December 2021. We received a good turnout, and planted lots of bulbs, plants and hedging. It was a cold, drizzly day, but we were all in great spirits. We had a visit from the local news team, and appeared on BBC Look North the same evening.
When we were about to leave site, of course, a very special sign from above appeared in the form of a RAINBOW, confirming that our Babies were watching over us.
